¹ There is some confusion about this film. Most sources cite La croisière jaune as a follow-up or sequel to the successful documentary La croisière noire (1926, released in the UK as Black Journey). However, the IMDb lists two films under the title La croisière jaune, both directed by Léon Poirier - one produced in 1928 and the other in 1933 (the latter co-directed with André Sauvage and released outside the UK as The Yellow Cruise), though the earlier film is listed as not being released in France until 1934. French sources list either one or the other of the two films, with release dates ranging from 1929 to 1931 and 1934, which suggests they're one and the same film. However, another source makes it clear that Poirier was only involved in editing the 1933 version after Sauvage was removed from the production following principal photography. The entry compiled for this Index assumes the material was filmed in 1928 by Sauvage and assembled by Poirier for release after 1933.
