¹ Episodes of the TV series Northwest Passage (1958-59), edited together and released as a theatrical feature.
² This obscure item has long been a bone of contention among fans of its star, Bela Lugosi. Many sources cite a 1951 production date, but the film didn't surface until 1959 when it was first submitted to the BBFC. A contemporary review in Kine Weekly (26 March 1959) describes Lugosi as the film's 'compere' for a series of clips from several B-movies he headlined in the 1940's (includingThe Ape Man [1943] and The Corpse Vanishes [1942]), which suggests he may have been involved in the shooting of all-new footage, most likely filmed during his visit to the UK in 1951. However, until a copy of the film can be found and examined, the origins of Lugosi's contribution will remain little more than guesswork.
³ Originally broadcast on US TV as an episode of Conflict (1956-57).
⁴ Condensed feature version of the same-named 12-chapter serial (1937).
